How Z Got to Be Named Z
Many people have asked me some form of the question, "how did you convince Tania to name your son Zambrano?" Well, I sorta knew, but I asked Tania (the Conversation TiVo) to give me the definitive version of how we arrived at it.
We had been discussing names, and I suggested Shawon, for my favorite Cub, Shawon Dunston. Well, Tania doesn't like Shawon, Sean, Shaun, etc., and suggested "Dunston." This reminded me of a dumb monkey-Jason Alexander movie, Dunston Checks In, and I said no. I kiddingly suggested Zambrano, for Carlos Zambrano, a favorite of both of us, and Tania almost immediately said yes, and soon we had the boy's name.

Zammy wanted to see what this whole Cubs-Cardinal rivalry was all about, and since it was such a nice day, Zammy and his dad decided to let Mom get some rest, get her nails done, and just generally recharge her batteries.
