After spending a couple days in Earlysville at Grandma's, the Kellys spent a day at Grandad's in Woodstock, Virginia, before the Zammy Tour hit Columbia, Maryland, (just outside Baltimore) to see our friends Barrett and Rebecca. Greg was still feeling the effects of food poisoning, so he put the camera away before Rebecca got home. That's her below at our wedding.

How Z Got to Be Named Z

Many people have asked me some form of the question, "how did you convince Tania to name your son Zambrano?" Well, I sorta knew, but I asked Tania (the Conversation TiVo) to give me the definitive version of how we arrived at it.

We had been discussing names, and I suggested Shawon, for my favorite Cub, Shawon Dunston. Well, Tania doesn't like Shawon, Sean, Shaun, etc., and suggested "Dunston." This reminded me of a dumb monkey-Jason Alexander movie, Dunston Checks In, and I said no. I kiddingly suggested Zambrano, for Carlos Zambrano, a favorite of both of us, and Tania almost immediately said yes, and soon we had the boy's name.
